Este ebook acompanha o Stage 2 — Part C do Tenaz Method.
A Part C consolida e expande tudo o que você aprendeu, introduzindo:
Prática completa com mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs
Infinitivo e Verbo Auxiliar — os fundamentos da estrutura verbal
The most / the fewest / the least — o sistema completo
Alimentos, bebidas, materiais, dias da semana e muito mais
Much/little/a lot of, enough, fewer/less — para contáveis e incontáveis
A Part C começa consolidando os pronomes possessivos com prática extensa — você já aprendeu a teoria na Part B, agora vem a fluência. Em seguida, dois conceitos gramaticais importantes: o Infinitivo e o Verbo Auxiliar.
Vem ANTES do substantivo.
This is MY book.
That is HER pen.
Those are THEIR shoes.
SUBSTITUI o substantivo.
This book is MINE.
That pen is HERS.
Those shoes are THEIRS.
Em vez de: 'This is my pen and that is her pen'
Podemos dizer: 'This is my pen and that is HERS.'
Dois conceitos gramaticais que você já usa intuitivamente agora recebem seus nomes formais.
Verbs in the infinitive generally have the word 'to' in front of them.
to do · to come · to go · to take · to speak · to read · to write...
Você já usou infinitivos em muitas estruturas:
Infinitivo como complemento de verbo
Infinitivo com sujeito explícito
Depois de 'can', o 'to' é omitido
An auxiliary verb is PART of the verb in a sentence, but it does NOT tell us the action.
'speaking' = ação · 'are' = auxiliar
'read' = ação · 'can' = auxiliar
'speak' = ação · 'do' = auxiliar
Sem significado próprio — apenas constrói a frase.
Do you speak English?
I do not have a bag.
Significa 'fazer'.
What do I DO after the lesson?
What do you DO before the lesson?
Ouça e escreva o que você ouvir. Este exercício treina sua escuta e ortografia em inglês.
This part of the body/ is a leg/ and this/ is an arm./ The plural of 'foot'/ is 'feet'./ There are twelve words/ in this sentence./ A verb is a word/ we use for an action./ What does the word/ 'do' mean?/ As an auxiliary verb/ it means nothing./ We say 'the book',/ but 'the umbrella'./ Question mark, full stop,/ comma./ The letter A/ isn't a consonant,/ but a vowel./ This answer is wrong./ That is right.

Do you want TO BREAK your pen? → No, I don't want to break my pen.

Esta é a lição mais gramaticalmente densa da Part C. O sistema de quantidade se completa: você já tem many/few para contáveis — agora chega much/little para incontáveis, e a distinção entre 'fewer...than' e 'less...than'.
Do you drink MUCH water?
No, I don't eat MUCH salt.
Yes, I drink A LOT OF water.
I eat A LOT OF bread.

fewer...than (contáveis) vs. less...than (incontáveis)
salt / pepper — temperos incontáveis · bank — banco
A lição final do Stage 2 completa o sistema de superlativos, introduz 'enough' como suficiência (vs. 'too' como excesso), o pronome substitutivo 'that one' para evitar repetição, o advérbio 'badly', e o vocabulário de comunicação moderna.
Of these three places, Greenwich has THE FEWEST buildings.
My brother is the one who reads THE FEWEST books.
Of these three people, Mr Smith drinks THE LEAST coffee.

Ouça e escreva o que você ouvir.
